Last Friday HRH The Princess Royal visited the Regimental Headquarters of The Royal Regiment of Scotland in Edinburgh Castle.
This was Her Royal Highness’ first visit to the Regimental Headquarters in her role as Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment.
Met by the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Robin Lindsay CBE, and the Governor of Edinburgh Castle, Major General (Retired) Bob Bruce CBE DSO, Her Royal Highness spoke with serving personnel about their recent activity before meeting with veterans, families and relatives of those who lost their lives in conflict.
Lieutenant Stewart Steven – 2 SCOTS said:
"I'm honoured to be in attendance today as Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, is here as Deputy Colonel in Chief and to be able to inform her of the hard work of the Regiment and provide an insight into the year ahead."
To commemorate the visit Her Royal Highness unveiled a plaque which read: “To commemorate the visit of HRH The Princess Royal Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Scotland to the Regimental Headquarters at Edinburgh Castle on 1 November 2024”
The role of Deputy Colonel-in-Chief was appointed to Her Royal Highness by The King, in recognition of her strong links to Scotland and her existing links with the Regiment.
